North Carolina has sent the NCAA travel and hiring records pertaining to Tami Hansbrough, the mother of former basketball star Tyler Hansbrough. Tami Hansbrough resigned from her fundraising position at the university earlier this month.Included in the documents, which the school released Friday, were summaries of Hansbrough's university-paid trips to the 2009 ACC and NCAA tournaments in which her son played. UNC won the national championship that season.
Steve Kirschner, a spokesman for UNC's athletics department, told The Associated Press on Saturday that the fax, sent to the NCAA earlier this month, was meant to brief it after media reports, not to report a violation.
